Google Calendar and Meet integration guide

How organizers connect Google to FollowTo, auto-create Meet links, and disconnect safely. Last updated: October 2026.

← Back to FollowTo

FollowTo is a community and events platform operated by Mantra Solventure. This guide covers the optional Google integration for organizers who run online or hybrid events with automatic Google Meet links.

Who this is for

Event organizers with a FollowTo account and a Google account. Guests do not connect Google; they RSVP on FollowTo and receive a personal join link after email confirmation.

Prerequisites

  • A FollowTo organizer account at followto.io
  • A completed community profile (required before Settings → Integrations)
  • A Google account with access to Google Calendar and Google Meet

Adding the app

  1. Sign up or sign in at followto.io.
  2. Complete your community profile if you have not already (Dashboard → Communities).
  3. Open Dashboard → Settings → Integrations.
  4. Under Google Meet, click Connect Google.
  5. Sign in to Google if prompted, review the requested permissions, and click Allow.
  6. You return to Settings with a message such as Connected as [your Google email].

Using Google Meet on an event

  1. Create or edit an online or hybrid event in your dashboard.
  2. Under online access, choose Google Meet (automatic) instead of a manual join link.
  3. Publish the event. FollowTo creates or updates a calendar event on your primary Google Calendar with a Meet link.
  4. Confirmed guests receive FollowTo join links; your Google OAuth tokens are not shared with guests.

When you edit the event title, description, or schedule, FollowTo updates the linked calendar event when possible.

Removing the app

From FollowTo

  1. Open Dashboard → Settings → Integrations.
  2. Click Disconnect next to Google Meet.

When you disconnect:

  • FollowTo deletes your stored Google OAuth tokens and integration record.
  • New events will not auto-create Meet sessions until you connect again.
  • Calendar events already created in your Google account remain there until you delete them in Google Calendar. FollowTo may still show previously issued guest join links on published events until you change or unpublish those events.

From your Google Account

You can revoke FollowTo's access from your Google Account security settings (Third-party apps with account access). After revocation, reconnect in FollowTo if you want to use automatic Google Meet again.

Data we access

Through Google OAuth, FollowTo accesses only what is needed to create and update calendar events with Meet links tied to your FollowTo events. We do not read unrelated calendars for marketing or advertising. FollowTo's use of Google user data adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including Limited Use. Full details are in our Privacy Policy.
